My family say this is the best BBQ sauce they have ever tasted. High praise indeed! And best of all, you can enjoy this knowing that it’s completely free of preservatives or refined sugars.
Make this in bulk, bottle it up, and store in the fridge for up to one month!
355 ml / 12 fl oz beef stock (I use organic low salt)
3 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed
140g tomato paste
4 tbsp raw honey
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
2 tsp smoky paprika
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp ground cumin
½ tsp sea or rock salt
½ tsp cayenne pepper
1. Simmer the beef stock and garlic together in a saucepan on low-medium heat for 5 minutes. This allows the garlic to cook without burning.
2. Next add all the remaining ingredients and whisk together in the saucepan. Simmer on low for about 25 minutes. This allows all the flavours to blend together.
3. Serve immediately, or allow it to cool, and then bottle it up for use on another day.
This BBQ sauce is perfect served with pulled pork stuffed sweet potatoes.
